According to video footage captured by the fishermen, the oarfish was found with its tail severed on a coastal beach in the province. Upon discovering the fish, the fishermen quickly released it back into the sea. Vietnamese media reported that this ominous species was found on the morning of May 18. According to Mr. Chau, a local fisherman, the oarfish measured nearly 2 meters in length and was found with a broken tail.
